Introduction Last updated: 2023-02-23

CHOP (CHED Operator Portal) - new operator portal where importers can gain access to some of the functions of our CHIP (CHED Inspection Platform) database for import controls. Some of the main benefits involve ease of checking consignment status, channelling and large document uploads, all without directly going to TRACESNT.

External facing website that uses CHIP backend service; only available to operators on authentication using Government Gateway.

  • Initial release provided the following functionality:
    • Basic details about a CHED including if a Doc/Seal/Full ID/Physical check for a CHED has failed
    • Notification if vehicle has been detained
    • RFI (Request for Information) outstanding
    • Ability to upload CHED related documents that can’t be uploaded to TRACES because of document size limits
    • Simplified pre-notification, i.e. contingency delivery note in the event that TRACES is unavailable
  • Additional functionality added to allow filtering options, quick search and the facility for the consignment operator to add and edit users
  • Users can complete the channelling process for their retail consignments
  • There is a single process step option that enables import of multiple documents from the Defra Fish Export Service (FES)
